Theme: Symmetries and Geometrical Properties of Partial Differential Equations
Abstract:It is well-known that some nonlinear partial differential equations arising from geometry and physics admit rich symmetries, those symmetries play key role in the study the those equations. In this talk, we are mainly concerned with symmetries and geometrical properties of partial differential equations. First, we recall some basic results on the symmetries and invariants of differential equations. Second, nonlinear partial differential equations with maximal symmetry groups are discussed, Third, the invariant properties to some geometric inequalities are studied. Finally, some open questions related to this talk are addressed.
His researches focus on invariant geometric flow and its relationship with integrable system, the symmetry,the invariant, the geometric property, and the singularity and stability of solutions of nonlinear partial differential equations. Many international prestigious journals, including Comm. Math. Phys.,Adv. Math.,ARMA,Math. Ann., J. Funct. Anal., J. Math. Pure Appl., Nonlinearity, have published his research results. And he is also the frequent guest of many important academic conferences at home and abroad. Now, he is the member of editorial board of Stud. Appl. Math.,Comm. Pure Appl. Anal., andAdvances in Mathematics and the associate managing editor of Pure and Applied Mathematics. His research achievements have been granted with the first prize and the second prize of the Science and Technological Progress Award of Shaanxi province, and the second prize of the Natural Science Award of Zhejiang province and the Scientific and Technological Progress Award of the Ministry of Education.
