English-teaching Program for Master Students in Material Science
and Engineering (EPMSMSE)

1. Educational Objectives 

  Master Program in Material Science and Engineering for International Students (MMSEPIS) is a specially designed English teaching program based on the program of Material Science and Engineering. This master program is targeted to train high-level personnel skilled in a variety of research, teaching and engineering technology and management of Material Science and Engineering and also innovative in all those fields.

  ● High-performance metals and engineering

  ● Advanced polymer materials and engineering

  ● New composite materials and engineering

  ● Biomedical Materials and Engineering

  ● New composite material technology

  ● Material molding new technology

  ● Photoelectron and information material

  ● New energy materials and technology

  

3. Courses 

  EPMSMSE is a two-three year postgraduate program in which two major sections are placed separately in course study (1 year) and research training (1-2 years). The completion of this program depends on the credits earned by the students under the supervisor's instruction after enrollment and research work.28 credits are required in this program, among which at least 18 credits are from major course taking.

  

4. Research Training 

  Main courses: Chinese, Introduction to China, Materials Science Progress, Modern Measurement and Analysis for Materials, Advanced Synthesis and Processing Technology of Materials, Microstructure and Properties of Materials, Calculation Material Science, New Technology of Composites, Science and Technology of Nanosized Materials, Microstructure and Properties of Materials, Thin Film Materials and Devices, Writing Norms of Scientific Papers.

  Thesis Research: Thesis Proposal, Thesis Defense.

  

5. Teaching Team 

  Dissertation is an important link to give the graduate students all the training, making them engaged in scientific research and technical work. Students should complete the supervisor's distribution of scientific research mission and dissertation writing.

  The dissertation needs to show that the author has an ability to engage in independent scientific research or technical work. From the literature review, the report selection, the choice of the reasonable research program to experiments and data processing, all of those should show that the author has problem-analyzing and problem-solving abilities.

  

6. Training approaches 

  The English language is used in course teaching, classroom discussion, paper writing, examination and out-classroom contact. The supervisor should make the program from every student's specific condition, which strengthens student's research capacity, self-learning ability, the practical ability, communication skills and writing skills.

  The Teaching team is mainly composed of teachers with experiences of studying at top Euramerican universities. They are all experienced at how to teach and instruct international students. Some courses are taught by scholars of well-known Euramerican universities.
