  Chen Wen, male, born in 1963, majoring in materials, professor, Ph. D supervisor, director of Chinese Solid Ion Association, member of Materials Research Institution of the United States, senior member of Chinese Materials Research Institution, director of Hubei Optoelectronics Association, member of Hubei Sci-tech Award Evaluation Committee, member of Materials Science and Engineering Instruction Committee, Ministry of Education. His research area mainly covers the structure of functional materials and physical effect.

   

  Cheng Jinshu, male, born in 1952, majoring in silicate industry, professor, Ph. D supervisor, deputy director of Key Laboratory of Silicate Materials Science and Engineering, Ministry of Education; vice dean of School of Materials Science and Engineering; director of Chinese Silicate Association; deputy director of Glass Committee of Chinese Silicate Association; member of Sci-tech and Education Committee of National Construction Materials Industry Association. He has long been engaged in teaching and researching on materials science. His research area mainly covers new and inorganic nonmetal materials, special glass and microlite glass.

   

  Fu Zhengyi, male, born in Suizhou City of Hubei Province, graduated from Huanan University of Technology and obtained his master degree there. He got his doctorate degree in Wuhan University of Technology in 1994 and then engaged as Special Professor of Material Processing Discipline by Cheung Kong Scholars Awards Program in September 2000. He is now the chief professor of Material Discipline of WUT, also a Ph.D supervisor

  Part-time Titles: director of Chinese Composite Material Society; vice director of “Journal of Composite Material”; editor of “Inter. J. SHS” in Asian area; vice director of “J. WUT- Mater. Sci. Edit”; expert of Advanced Material Technology of General Armament Department Expert Committee, and member of the 5th Discipline Evaluation Committee of the State Council Degree Committee.

  He has obtained several influential research fruits at international level and established some important material synthesis and manufacturing systems, as well as developed certain high performance materials.

   

   

  Gu Erdan, male, born in Shangyu City of Zhejiang Province, graduated from University of Science and Technology of China, obtaining his master degree there. Studying in University of Aberdeen of Great Britain and obtaining his doctorate degree there during 1989 and 1992. He was engaged as Special Professor of Material Processing Discipline by Cheung Kong Scholars Awards Program in November 2002.

  He has been engaged in research fields of rare earth thin film and multi-films, conducting systematic research on the film’s relationship between the micro-structure and its growth condition and then discovered new method of manufacturing rare earth thin film. He was the first expert to study and illustrate the dependent relationship between the epitaxial iron thin film and the micro-magnetic structure of its particle. He is now undertaking researches on the growth of thin films and its physical nature.

   

  Guan Jianguo, male, born in Qidong County, Hubei Province on Sep. 1969 and gained his doctorate degree on Engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 1995. From 2000 to 2001, professor Guan served as a researcher in Nanyang University of Science and Technology, in Singapore. He is the responsible professor, the supervisor of doctoral postgraduates of the State Key Laboratory of Advanced Technology for Materials Synthesis and Processing, part time director ofChinese Society Of Micro-Nano Technology, commissary of the Target Control Technology-Technical Control Branch, and chair professor of “Chutian Scholar Program”.

    

  Guo Jingkun, male, born in Xinhui County of Guangdong Province, graduated from the Chemistry Department of Fudan University in 1958. He is now director and researcher of Academic Degree Committee of Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, chief editor of Journal of Inorganic Material, Bulletin of the Chinese Ceramic Society and Ceramics International. He was elected as an academician of World Association of Ceramics in 1990, an academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1991 and later elected as an academician of The Third World Academy of Sciences.

  He has been the honorary dean of WUT’s School of Material Science and Engineering as well as professor and Ph. D supervisor since October 2000, taking charge of WUT’s relative disciplinary construction together with teaching and researching affairs. He is also one of the academic leading researcher and explorer in the field of high temperature ceramics materials in China.

   

  Huang Jun, male, born in October, 1958, graduated from Wuhan University of Technology, majoring in Material Science, professor, Ph. D supervisor.

  His major research fields include: optical fiber sensing sensitive materials, optical chemical and biological sensor, optical function materials

  Professor Huang has published more than 100 papers, taking charge of more than 20 projects like National Sci-tech Progress Award, Hubei Sci-tech Progress Award, among which 3 have achieved National sci-tech Progress Award and Hubei Sci-tech Progress Award.

  His Main current project is “the development of fibre grating sensor in severe weather”. His recent papers include “Immobilization of pycnoporus sanguineus laccase on magnetic chitosan microspheres”, “Sol-gel Derived Complex Sensing Membranes for Detection of Oxygen”, “Preparation and Properties of Modified Sol-Gel Sensing Membrane for Fiber Optic Oxygen Sensor”, “Study on the properties of metallophthalocyanine-Fe3O4 nanoparticles composite”, “Preparation, complex mechanism and structure model of metallophthalocyanine-Fe3O4 nanoparticles composite”.

   

  Jiang Desheng, male, born on March 25th, 1949, Graduated from Wuhan University of Technology, majoring in Physics, professor, PhD supervisor, Director of Optical Fiber Center.

  He is mainly devoted to the research of optical fiber sensing material and processing techniques for 20 years. He has made a series of innovative achievements in the development of photosensitive new-type materials and the new technique development of optical fiber micro processing, on the basis of which, through the integration of various techniques, he realized the industrialization of optical fiber sensing technology and formed whole set of technologies and equipments with proprietary intellectual property rights of China. He undertook over 20 projects at the provincial and ministerial level and won two second-prizes and one third-prize in National Science and Technology Progress Award, three first-prizes and three second-prizes in Provincial and ministerial award. He applied for 16 invention patents, 4 of which were authorized and one of which won China Outstanding Patent Award.

  Professor Jiang has published many papers. His recent publications include: “Study on electro-magneto-rheological fluid containing CuPc-Fe3O4 nanoparticles composite”, “The compatibility in optic fiber smart concrete and structure”, Study of the complex enzyme membrane for a fiber optic glucose sensor”, “Immobilization of pycnoporus sanguineus laccase on magnetic chitosan microspheres”, “Synthesis and characterization of a novel poly(N-vinyl)-3”.

   

  Jiang Hongyi, male, born on March 16th, 1961, graduated from Wuhan University of Technology, majoring in Material Science, Professor, PhD supervisor, vice dean of the School of Material Science and Engineering.

  His research areas include ecological environment and new-type functional materials.

   

  Liu Hanxing, male, born in 1963, graduated from Jilin University, majoring in Physical Chemistry, professor, PhD supervisor, dean of School of Materials.

  His research areas include:

  1. Structure design of layered perovskite and the characteristics and application of new-type functional materials

  (1)structure and property of energy-storage medium

  (a)structure design, preparation and property of high working temperature, high specific inductive capacity (SIC) medium of ceramic matrix;

  (b)composite principle, calculation and property anticipation and preparation technique of resin matrix.

  (2)preparation method, property and devices of structural-class layered perovskite Lead-free Piezoelectric materials;

  (3)microwave dielectric ceramics and its devices. (4)structure design and research of material property of organic-inorganic layered perovskite.

  2. Preparation and property of li-ion battery and its electrode materials

  (1) design and preparation of lithium ion battery electrode materials;

  (2) research of preparation of electrode film and production of lithium micro batteries.

  Professor Liu has published more than 180 papers, 80 of which have been embodied by SCI and obtained a national patent for new invention. His recent papers include “Preparation and characterization of LiNi0.80Co0.20-xAlxO2 as cathode materials for lithium ion batteries”; “Preparation and dielectric properties of Sr(Ti0.95Zr0.05)O3 ceramics doped with CaO-TiO2-SiO2”.

   

  Min Xinmin, male, born in 1953, graduated from Jilin University, majoring in Physical Chemistry, professor, PhD supervisor.

  His research area is material physics and chemistry. Professor Min undertakes many projects like National Ministry of Building Materials Sci-tech Progress Award, Ministry of Education Sci-tech Progress Award and Hubei Natural Science Award, among which 4 have achieved provincial and ministerial sci-tech progress award.

  His current project is “Polymer matrix high heat conduction and high heat insulation nanometer composite”

   

  Mu Shichun, male, born in 1973, majoring in mineralogy, professor, Ph. D supervisor, once making research in Oxford University in the field of chemistry. His research area mainly covers fuel battery and its key materials. Furthermore, he has presided over 10 key projects and published more than 20 papers.

  Meanwhile, he has also been awarded various prizes for academic projects and researches. Most importantly, he has obtained a number of patents in different areas. 

   

  Shao Gangqin, male, born in 1965, graduated from Wuhan University of Technology, majoring in Material Science, researcher, PhD supervisor.

  His research area is metal-nonmetal nanometer composite. Professor Shao owns 10 national patents and published over 90 research papers both domestically and internationally and participated in the International Academic Conferences several times. He presided over several research projects at both the national and provincial and ministerial levels, among which 2 projects belong to National “863 Project”--High Technology Research Development Project, State Commission of Science and Technology for National Defense Industry Project, Ministry of Education Major Project, China Post-doctoral Science Fund, etc.

  His recent publications include “Ultra-fine hard-metals prepared by WC-10wt% Co composite powder”, “Synthesis and characterization of ultra-fine Co-30wt%NbC composite powder with a core/rim structure”, “Preparation of nano-composite Ni/YSZ cermets powder by EDTA complexes-gel-conversion process (CGCP)”.

   

  Shui Zhonghe, male, born in E’zhou City, Hubei Province on Sep. 1962 and gained master’s degree from the Material Technology Department of Wuhan University of Technology, studied in Delft University of Science and Technology, in Holand and gained doctor’s degree from 1996 to Jan. 2001. He is the professor, vice dean and the supervisor of doctoral postgraduates of Material Technology Department, WUT. In 2006, he was chosen as the chair professor by “Chutian Scholar Program” and the part-time Vice President of China Building and Material Industry Association-Ecological Building Materials Branch.

   

  Sun Zhigang, male, born in Wuhan City, Hubei Province on Nov. 1969, gained bachelor’s degree from Beijing University of Science and Technology in 1991 and master’s degree on Science from Wuhan University in 1997 as well as his doctorate degree in State Key Laboratory of Magnetics, Physics Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2000. Professor Sun studied as a postdoctoral student in Solid-Material Research Center in Leibniz, Germany from 2000 to 2002, gaining Humboldt Scholarship. Sun successively served as the special JSPS researcher and special SYNAF researcher of AIST Nano-technology Research Department, research professor of KAIST from 2002 to Feb. 2007. Sun is the head professor of the State Key Laboratory of Advanced Technology for Materials Synthesis and Processing, Wuhan University of Technology. In 2005, professor Sun was engaged as special professor by Chutian Scholar Program and then entered into the Program of New Century Excellent Talents sponsored by the Education Ministry of China in 2006 (NCET). He is also a chief professor of WUT right now.

   

  Tang Xinfeng, male, born in 1962, graduated from Japan Northeast University, majoring in Material Science, professor, PhD supervisor, vice director of the State Key Laboratory for Advanced Technology of Materials Compositization, head of the New Material Research Institute, winner of Education Ministry New Century Outstanding Talents Plan.

  Professor Tang is mainly devoted to the research of semiconductor thermoelectricity materials and devices, in charge of and participating in a series of projects at both national and provincial and ministerial levels, such as National “973” Major Basic Research Project, National Natural Science Fund Major International Cooperation project, National Natural Science Fund Key and Surface project, National “863” High Technology Project, Education Ministry New Century Outstanding Talents Fund Project and Education Ministry Outstanding Young Teachers Sponsor Plan Project.

  Professor Tang discovered and revealed the thermoelectricity material galvanothermy conducting.

   

  Wang Hao, male, born in 1969, graduated from Wuhan University of Technology, majoring in Material Science and Engineering, researcher, PhD supervisor.

  His research areas include Material processing engineering, composite material science, which further include: new techniques of material synthesization and processing, research of ceramics martix materials preparation as well as the relations between structure and performance.

  Professor Wang has published more than 100 papers, his publications include “Properties and Microstructure of Mullite-Based Iron Nano-composite”, “Fabrication and Magnetic Properties of Mullite Based Nano-composites with FeCr”, “Micro-structural effects on the transmittance of translucent AlN ceramics by SPS”, “Microstructure and IR transmittance of spark plasma sintering translucent AlN ceramics with CaF2”, “Magnetic Mullite-iron Composite Nano-particles Prepared by Solid Solution Reduction”.

  Besides, Professor Wang has won many Awards in his field like National Sci-tech Progress Award, Hubei Science Progress Award, Hubei natural Science Award and Construction Building Material Sci-tech Progress Award.

   

  Wang Jun, male, bornin 1965, majoring in composite materials, professor, Ph. D supervisor, dean of the Department of Composite Materials; member of Polymer Branch of Chinese Composite Materials Association; editor of “High-tech Fiber and Its Application”; editor of “Thermosetting Resin”. His research area mainly covers high performance polymer, functional and intelligent composite materials as well as new technology of composite materials preparation.

   

  Wang Weimin, male, born in Dangyang City, Hubei Province on Feb. 1966 and gained doctorate degree from Wuhan University of Technology on Oct. 1998. From Feb. 2000 to May. 2001, Professor Wang did researches as a visiting scholar in Delft University of Science and Technology, in Holand. He is the professor, the supervisor of doctoral postgraduates of the State Key Laboratory of Advanced Technology for Materials Synthesis and Processing, part time director ofChinese Materials Research Society, Youth Branch, and chair professor of “Chutian Scholar Program”.

   

  Wu Shaopeng, male, born in 1965, majoring in materials, professor, Ph. D supervisor, member of International Asphalt Road Surface Association; member of Chinese Materials Research Institution; member of Chinese Road Association; member of Chinese Silicate Association.

  His research area mainly covers road construction materials. He has presided over 32 national and provincial key projects. Furthermore, he has published more than 140 papers, among which 63 have been indexed by SCI, EI and ISTP. Meanwhile, he has obtained 5 patents and published a number of books.

   

  Yu Jiaguo, male, born in Lichuan City, Hubei Province on Jan. 1963 and gained bachelor’s degree on Chemistry from Central China Normal University in 1985, and master’s degree on Sciences from Xi'an Jiaotong University on Jun. 1988, and doctor’s degree on Engineering from the Material Technology Department of Wuhan University of Technology in 2000. Professor Yu has worked in New Material Institute, Wuhan University of Technology since Jun. 1988, once did research on postdoctoral on Chemistry Dep., Chinese University of Hong Kong from Nov. 2000 to May 2002 and from July 2003 to July 2004, and served as visiting scholar in University of Bristol from Nov. 2005 to Oct. 2006. Professor Yu is the supervisor of doctoral postgraduates of WUT and chosen as a Chair professor by “Chutian Scholar Program” in 2005.

   

   Yu Jianying, male, born in 1963, graduated from Wuhan University of Technology, majoring in Material Science, professor, PhD supervisor.

  His research areas include advanced macromolecule materials, road building materials, organic-inorganic nanometer materials, ecological building materials.

  He is mainly devoted to the research in advanced macromolecule materials, road building materials, organic-inorganic nanometer materials, and ecological building materials. He undertook and participated in over 20 projects in National Science Problems Tackling Project, National “863”Plan, National Natural Science Fund as well as Science problems tackling projects in Hubei, Yunnan, Headquarters of China Petrochemical Industry, Wuhan City, etc. He won three third-and-above prizes in Science Progress Award at provincial and ministerial level.

  Professor Yu has published more than 100 papers, 40 of which have been embodied by SCI and EI. He has also been granted 6 authorized national invention patents. His recent publications include “Influence of an Optimized Fiber Coating on Interfacial and Mechanical Properties of Glass Fiber/Polypropylene Composites”, “Microstructure and Properties of De-sulfurized Crumb Rubber Modified Bitumen”, “Studies on Phenolic Resin/Montmorillonite Intercalation Nano-composites”, “Effect of processing parameters on electrical resistivity and thermo-sensitive properties of carbon-black/styrenebutadienerubber composite membranes”, “Self healing action of permeable crystalline coating on pores and cracks in cement based materials”, “Improving Aging resistance of SBS Modified Bitumen Crack Filling Material by Addition of Antioxidant”, “Preparation and Properties of MAH-g-SBS Modified Asphalt Crack Filling Materials”.

  

  Zeng Liming, male, born in 1952, graduated from Wuhan University of Technology, majoring in Composite Materials, professor, PhD supervisor.

  His research areas include functional composite materials, high performance polymer matrix composite and composite interface.

  He presided over and participated in more than 20 research projects, 5 of which were assessed as sci-tech results and evaluated as leading level domestically and advanced level internationally. He won three third-prizes in the Science and Technology Progress Award at the provincial and ministerial level, and one prize in “Xinghuo Planning” Award in Dangyang City, Hubei Province, one prize in Hubei Outstanding Patented Technological Achievement Implement Award, two second-prizes and three third-prizes in Hubei Natural Science Outstanding Thesis Award, a variety of Outstanding Thesis Awards in the Institute of Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastic/Composite Materials, three utility model patents.

  Professor Zeng has published4 works and more than 50 papers, among which several were embodied by SCI and EI. His recent main publications include “Mechanism of Reduction Action of Unstrurated Polyester Resin”, “Mechanism and Effective of Reduction Action of Unsaturated Plyester Resin Reducer”, “Characterization of UP Resin/Glass-fiber Adhesive Interface Micro-stress”, “Study on Co-Curing Reaction in Chain Prolonged Bismaleimide-unsaturated Polymer Resin System”, “Determination of Cohesive Energy Density of UP Resin by the Swelling Method”.

   

  Zhang Qingjie, male, born in Henan Province on November 1958, vice president, professor, Ph.D supervisor and member of the Advisory Committee of Wuhan Municipal People’s Government.

  Professor Zhang has long been engaged in Macro and Micro Mechanics Theory of New Composite Materials as well as Design Theory of New and High Performance Composite Materials. He has gained influential achievements in designing, manufacturing and applied evaluation of New Composite Materials, together with macro or micro reacting and macro or micro inactivation of materials, presiding over 9 research projects, including “863 National High-tech Project”, Major Projects of International Cooperation of National Natural Science Foundation, Projects of National Natural Science Foundation as well as Projects of the Ministry of Education. At the beginning of 2007, Professor Zhang, as a chief scientist, applied for the “973 Program” of “Basic Research on High-efficient Thermo Electric Converting Material and Its Apparatus” and obtained the approval.

   

  Zhao Xiujian, male, born in Xiangtan County of Hunan Province, graduated from the Department of Silicate Material Science and Engineering of Wuhan Industry University in 1982 and obtained his doctorate degree in Japan’s Kyoto University in 1988 and then engaged as Special Professor of Material Discipline by Cheung Kong Scholars Awards Program in December 1999. He is now the chief professor of Material Discipline of WUT, also a Ph.D supervisor and director of Ministerial Key Laboratory of Silicate Materials Engineering.

  Part-time Titles: Member of Technology Committee of International Commission on Glass; member of Glass Standardization Committee of National Architecture Glass; standing director of Chinese Ceramics Association and vice director of Division of Special Glass Association; member of Chinese Society of Rare Earths and Ceramics; member of Hubei Society of Advanced Scholars; member of national committee of CPPCC (Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference).

  He has undertaken basic theoretical researches on amorphous glass materials, providing important theory basis for the formation and structure design of functional glass and contributing a lot to perfect the formation and structure theory of amorphous glass materials.

   

  Zhou Mingkai, male, born in 1964, majoring in materials, professor, Ph. D supervisor, director of Hubei Road Association, editor of “Functional Materials”.

  His research area mainly covers road and bridge materials as well as synthetic application of solid waste. Furthermore, he has presided over 20 key projects at both the national and provincial levels. Meanwhile, he has also published more than 90 papers, a number of books, 7 provincial awards and 2 patents.
