  WUT Participating in Multicultural Festival in Lorraine

  Recently, a WUT delegation invited by Metz municipal government and University de Lorraine Confucius Institute visited Metz and participated in the local Multicultural Festival. Members come from WUT International Office and WUT students’ Art Club and Music Club.

   The festival opened at the Republican Square in Metz. Ms. Tramm, deputy mayor of Metz, warmly welcomed the arrival of WUT delegation at the opening speech. Performance included music Sansei III suite, Peacock dance, martial arts and percussion Charming Drum. These programs won the locals’ applause and praise. At the national costume show, students dressed in colorful Chinese national costumes of Han, Yi, Wa, Dai, Mongolian and Shui presented the great and profound Chinese culture.

  Traditional Chinese musical instruments such as guzheng, pipa, flute and erhu  were played on stage. Peacock dance showed Dai culture and style. Other dances and martial art performances pushed the celebration to a climax. Audience lined up to take photos with the actors after their performances.


  The festival promoted the Sino-French cultural exchange, presented excellent Chinese spirit and cultural connotation, and enhanced the influence of WUT Confucius Institute in the area.
