Jun Wang, Associate Vice President of the University of California, Riverside of the USA, Visited WUT with His Entourage 



On the afternoon of March 27, the Vice President of WUT Chen Wen had a meeting with Mr. Jun Wang, the Associate Vice President of the University of California, Riverside (UC Riverside or UCR in short), in the Room 202 of the Convention Center. The meeting was attended by heads of the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, the School of Information Engineering, the School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Life Sciences, the School of Management and the School of Economics.

Chen Wen conveyed a warm welcome to the visit of the Associate Vice President Jun Wang and his team. He said that the cooperation between WUT and the UCR has a long history, and with more than 60 students studying at the UCR through the joint exchange programs of both universities. Both sides have recently signed a broader co-operation agreement, which will benefit more students. It is hoped that the relevant departments and schools of both parties will continue to explore innovative forms of cooperation and encourage more students to exchange overseas.


Jun Wang noted that this newly-signed cooperation agreement will expand the scope of cooperation from economics and management to engineering, aiming at not only enrolling more excellent students from WUT, but also designing joint projects in order to fit the students' needs by connecting with relevant schools of WUT.


Ian Wheeldon, the Associate Professor of the Center for Industrial Biotechnology of the UCR of the USA, introduced its current discipline research directions and cases of participation of undergraduate in scientific research.

During the visit, the representatives of the UCR held two information sessions in the Library Lecture Room of the South Lake campus, publicizing the relevant information and policies of studying in UCR for students majoring in economics, management and engineering.
