Two Academicians of WUT were Selected as Academicians of the Asia Pacific Academy of Materials


Recently, the biennial meeting of the Asian Pacific Academy of Materials (APAM) was held in the Nanyang Technological University of Singapore. 32 academicians and 12 associate academicians  joined APAM as entrants, including Academician Jiang Desheng and Academician Zhang Lianmeng from our university.

Established in Japan in 1992, APAM now has 11 member countries and regions, such as Russia, Republic of Korea, Japan, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, India, Mongolia and the Republic of Uzbekistan. Among over 500 existing academicians (called as “Member” in the early days), a total of 103 members from Chinese Mainland are selected, including Li Hengde, Fu Hengzhi, Li Yiyi, Ye Hengqiang and Cheng Huiming coming from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering. As a non-governmental organization, APAM boasts outstanding scientists who have made remarkable contributions to the development of materials science and technology in the Asian-Pacific region, with its mission to increase the international cooperation in the area of scientific research and promote the development of materials science and technology.
