Professor Yu Huogen of WUT was selected Into the “National Talent Project” in 2019

Recently, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security announced the list of "National Key Talent Project". Professor Yu Huogen from the School of Chemistry, Chemical Engnieering and Life Science of our university was selected, and won the title of "Young and Middle-aged Experts with Outstanding Contributions". The number of selected students of “National Key Talent Project” has increased to 12.

Professor Yu Huogen is currently the chief professor of chemistry at Wuhan University of technology. He is selected by the “new century Excellent talent supporting Project (NCET)”of the Ministry of Education. He is mainly engaged in the research of nano-chemistry and photocatalysis, and has made a series of innovative achievements. He has published more than 110 SCI high-level papers in the world-famous journals such as JACS, among which 13 papers published as the first author or corresponding author are cited by ESI. His SCI papers have been incited over 7000times, with a personal index-H reaching 50. He has presided over 4 projects of National Natural Science Foundation of china and had 1 second prize of National Natural Science (ranking second), 1 first prize of Natural Science of Hubei Province (ranking second). In 2016, he has won the title of “excellent young science and technology worker” in Wuhan City”, selected in the list of Elsevier's “most cited Chinese researchers” for five consecutive years from 2014 to 2018, and served as the editorial board of international journal scientific reports (SCI, if: 4.011) and young editorial board of Chinese Journal of catalyst (SCI, if: 4.914).  

The “National Key Talent Project” is a national high-end talent selection and training brand project organized and implemented by the Ministry of human resources and social security, together with the Ministry of science and technology, the Ministry of education, the Ministry of finance, the development and Reform Commission, the national natural science foundation, and the China Association for science and technology. It aims to select and cultivate a group of middle-aged and young talents that can take a lead in and support the development of national science and technology and other key fields  . Since its implementation in 1995, a group of outstanding scientists and academic and technological leaders in various industries emerged among the selected candidates, have played an important role in achieving breakthroughs in the key national scientific research projects and in the  construction of key projects, and have also made outstanding contributions to improving China's independent innovation ability and promoting the leapfrog development of economic science and technology.
