Professor Song Yinghua of WUT Was Invited to Work as a Provincial Epidemic Prevention and Control Expert

In order to deeply implement the general requirements of “firm confidence, work together, scientific level of prevention, and precise implementation” put forward by General Secretary Xi JinPing and timely resolve striking problems in the epidemic prevention and control work in Hubei province, the provincial party committee and provincial government decided to establish a comprehensive expert group under the structure of provincial headquarters during the critical period of the epidemic prevention and control of COVID-19 on the afternoon of February 25. Ying Yong, the secretary of the provincial party committee and commander of the provincial epidemic prevention and control headquarters of COVID-19, presided over and held a symposium of experts in the field. Wang Xiaodong, Deputy Secretary of the provincial party committee and the Provincial Governor, Huang Chuping, Executive Vice Governor of the province, Yang Yunyan, Vice Governor of the province, and other leaders attended the symposium. They exchanged opinions with the invited experts and issued letters of appointment to them.


The comprehensive expert group is composed of 20 experts from the country's medical treatment, disease prevention and control, comprehensive analysis of epidemic, psychological crisis intervention, emergency management and urban safety operation, legal services, amongst others. Academician Wang Chen and Academician Li Lanjuan of the Chinese Academy of Engineering served as conveners.


Professor Song Yinghua, Counsellor of the provincial government, Chief Professor of Discipline of WUT, Dean of School of Safety Science and Emergency Management, Director of China Emergency Management Research Center, was invited to participate in the symposium and was hired as an expert in emergency management and urban safety operation group. At the symposium, Professor Song Yinghua exchanged opinions in detail with those provincial leaders on issues related to urban safety operation and emergency management.
