[Lecture] Preview of "Global Vision Lectures" (12)

Global Vision Lectures was initiated by the International Office of WUT, aiming at providing a high-level and multi-field international academic exchange platform for teachers and students by uniting teaching and scientific research units to hold a series of high-end academic lectures. This project is designed to promote scientific research exchanges, to broaden the international horizons of teachers and students, and to further enhance their international communication capacity. The twelfth lecture will be held on Wednesday, November 22, and the activity information is as follows:

Biography:

Professor Wei Leifrom Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, received his Bachelor degree from Wuhan University of Technology (WUT) in 2005, his Ph.D. degree from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) in 2011, and undertook doctoral studies at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA, from 2010 to 2014. He has been appointed as the Director of Centre for Optical Fiber Technology at NTU since 2018, and the Assistant Dean of Research at the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering since 2022. Meanwhile, he is also a member of the Academic Committee, Teaching Committee, and Academic Board of NTU. His research interests include composite fibers, optical fiber sensing, fiber-based optoelectronic devices, bio-fiber interfaces, in-fiber energy generation and storage, smart fabrics, etc. He has published more than 170 theses in Nature and other academic journals. His major part-time academic jobs include the chairman of the IEEE Photonics Society Singapore Chapter, the chairman of the Optica Singapore Section, and the editorial board of several international journals.
