Biography: Professor Gaotait is a chemistry professor at the University of Lorraine (Metz/Nancy campuses). He obtained his Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the University of Franche-Comté in Besançon, France, in 1992. In 1993, he conducted a 16-month postdoctoral research at the National Institute for Environmental Studies in Tsukuba, Japan. He then joined the University of Metz as an associate professor in the same year. After obtaining his full professorship in 2000, he was appointed as a tenured professor in 2006. From 2008 to 2012, he served as the Vice-President of the University of Lorraine in charge of technology transfer. Currently, his research focuses on the preparation of nanomaterials (semiconductors, carbon dots) using microwave-assisted growth techniques and their characterization through mass spectrometry. He is also committed to exploring sustainable pathways, circular economy, and social impacts in the field of materials science. Since 1998, he has established long-term cooperative relationships with universities and research institutions in the United States, China, and North African countries.
