Biography: Ma Ningxu is professor at the Joining and Welding Research Institute of Osaka University, Japan, and the head of the International Center for Computational Welding Science and Engineering. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in welding engineering from Xi’an Jiaotong University in 1982 and 1985, respectively, and earned his Ph.D. in engineering from Osaka University in 1994. In 2011, he was appointed as a visiting professor in materials science at Xi’an Shiyou University, and in 2024, he became an adjunct professor at Xi’an University of Technology and a distinguished visiting professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Tsinghua University. He has previously served as the editor-in-chief of the Journal of the Japan Society for Technology of Plasticity. He has published over 300 academic papers and has served as the chair or co-chair of multiple international conferences.
