The 2021 Commencement Ceremony & Graduate Degree Award Ceremony for International Students is held

On July 2nd, the 2021 Commencement Ceremony & Graduate Degree Award Ceremony for International Students was held at the academic hall of Lide Building in Nanhu Campus.

Wang Fazhou, Vice Presidentof WUT, extended his warm congratulations and proposed sincere suggestions and wishes to all international graduates. He suggested that students should set up lofty goals,uphold firm determination,carry forward and inheritthe truth-seeking and pragmatic spirit.He wished that all of them could become international talents with international vision, innovative spirit and preeminent competency and the ones who are familiar with and friendly to Chinaand can facilitate the international exchange and communication. 

Vice President Wang stressed that the first day of July was a great and solemn day in the history of both the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the Chinese nation. On that day, the Ceremony Marking the Centenary of the Communist Party of China was held. He hoped that it could be a better opportunity for international students to know more about the history, the original aspiration and mission of the Party, so as to understand that CPC is a political party that strives for both the well-being of the Chinese people and human progress. Besides, Vice President Wang expected that all of international students could make their own contributions to promote cultural exchanges between China and foreign  countries and make unremitting efforts to promote mutual understanding among all countries with the spirit of the reply to Peking University students at the end of June from General Secretary Xi Jinping as their guidance. 

Two representatives of graduates--ABDULLAH, a Pakistan PhD student of School of Materials Science in Grade 2018, and SITI SAHARA, a Indonesian postgraduate of College of Science in Grade 2018, have respectively made their speeches. They expressed their gratitude for WUT, for their teachers and parents, shared their feelings of visiting China and their learning and development experiences of their school days.They said that they would never forget their days in WUT, and expressed their determination of fulfilling the responsibility of WUTers to serve more people with what they have learned in WUT. Meanwhile, they called on all the international graduates to promote cultural exchanges and establish friendship between China and other countries, making more foreigners to know about a real China.

After the speech, Huang Xiaoyong, Dean of School of International Education read out the degree awarding decision. Vice President Wang and Dean Huang conferred degrees to all present graduates.

The ceremony came to a satisfactory close with the Song of Excellence. Thirty-three international graduates, taking expectations from their teachers and parents, begin a new journey for a brighter future.
