WUT hosted the 6th International Conference on Transportation Information and Safety

From October 22th to 24th, the 6th International Conference on Transportation Information and Safety (ICTIS 2021), sponsored jointly by China Communications and Transportation Association (CCTA) and Canadian Society for Civil Engineering (CSCE), coordinated by IEEE Intelligent Transportation Systems Society (IEEE-ITSS) and organized by WUT’s Intelligent Transportation Systems Research Center, was hosted in Wuhan, China, with more than 200 experts and scholars in transportation from home and abroad attending.

Under the theme of “New Infrastructure Construction for Better Transportation”, the conference was held both online and offline. At the opening ceremony, addressors, including WUT Vice President Liu Zuyuan, CCTA’s Vice Chairman Zhang Chunzhi, Professor Brenda McCabe of CSCE, and Professor Lee Paul Tae-woo of Maritime Logistics and Free Trade Islands Research Center of Zhejiang University, respectively expressed their sincere gratitude and good wishes to all attendees.

The keynote speakers on invitation were Niu Xinqiang (a member of Chinese Academy of Engineering), Professor RILETT Laurence R of Auburn University (a fellow of American Society of Civil Engineers), Professor KIM Kap-Hwan of Maritime Logistics and Free Trade Islands Research Center of Zhejiang University, Professor HUNT John Douglas of University of Calgary, Professor Zhao Xiangmo of Chang'an University, and Professor Qiu Zhijun of WUT’s Intelligent Transportation Systems Research Center. There were 16 special sessions in the symposium covering road traffic safety, autonomous surface ships, intelligent and connected vehicles, intelligent and connected transportation systems, land use and transportation planning, reliability and green technology for ships, big data for new energy vehicles and safety, and other topics. Many specialists and scholars were invited to make reports on the forefront issues of transportation information and safety of intelligent network connection.

The main conference of ICTIS 2021

ICTIS 2021 had received 365 full papers from researchersboth at home and abroad, among which 243 papers would be selected for publication in the ICTIS 2021 Proceedings through IEEE and be submitted to EI Compendex for indexing.

It was reported that the 7th International Conference on Transportation Information and Safety (ICTIS 2023) would be held by Chang’an University (CHU) in Xi’an, China.
