From October 28th to November 3rd, China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) organized a Chinese Higher Education Delegation to Romania and Greece. Xia Jiangjing, Deputy Secretary of the WUT Party Committee, participated in the delegation.

During the visit, Deputy Secretary Xia Jiangjing participated in the Eighth Meeting of China - Central and Eastern European Countries Higher Education Institutions Consortium, the Second Sino-Romanian Universities Rectors' Forum and the Second Sino-Greek Universities Rectors' Forum; visited four universities, including the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Cluj-Napoca, the Transilvania University of Brasov, the University of Athens, and the Polytechnic University of Athens, took part in two B2B talks, and paid visits to China's foreign institutions, such as the Chinese Embassy in Romania.

At the 8th meeting of China-CEEC Higher Education Institutions Consortium, Mr. Xia Jiangjing, made a keynote speech titled "Implementation of Education Digitization Strategy - Exploration and Practice of Wuhan University of  Technology", and made a thematic discussion with the leaders of 16 universities and representatives of Central and Eastern European Countries Higher Institutions on the topics of digital transformation of higher education, digital international exchanges and innovations, and new mode of talent cultivation with the help of the development and utilization of digital resources.

At the 2nd Sino-Romanian University Rectors' Forum, the rectors of both sides introduced the successful cases and practices of international cooperation in their universities and fully communicated the intention of cooperation, and Xia Jiangjing introduced the characteristics and advantages of WUT, and carried out in-depth exchanges and negotiations with the Romanian universities.

Mr. Xia Jiangjing visited Transylvania University of Brasov with the delegation, visited the laboratories of the university in automotive, chemical, biological and materials disciplines, discussed with the dean and professors about the exchange of faculty and scientific research cooperation, and the vice president of the university, Mr. Daniel Munteanu, met with Mr. Xia, discussing about the inter-university cooperation and the exchange of faculty and students. At the same time, the delegation also visited the Chinese Embassy in Romania, met with Ambassador Han Chunlin, and participated in exchanges on how to make good use of platform mechanisms such as China-CEEC cooperation, and constantly promote Sino-Romanian educational cooperation to go deeper and more practical.

At the Sino-Greek University Rectors' Forum, Xia Jiangjing made a special speech, introducing the WUT's general situation, disciplinary characteristics, internationalization achievements and so on, in order to set up a platform for academic, scientific research and cultural exchanges between universities, and many universities expressed their interest in cooperation.During the period in Greece, the delegation also visited the University of Athens and Athens Polytechnic University, and met with alumni of WUT, who were expected to achieve great successes in their studies and make contributions to the Sino-Greek communication.

The delegation gained an in-depth understanding of the development of internationalization of universities in Central and Eastern European countries, and promoted policy communication, resource sharing, exchange and collaboration between Chinese and Central and Eastern European universities in the field of education, as well as the exchange and mutual understanding between Chinese and foreign education.
