Professor Stephen McArthur of University of Strathclyde and his delegation visited WUT

Recently, Luo Rong, Vice President of WUT met with Professor Stephen McArthur, Vice President of the University of Strathclyde, UK, and his delegation. A forum was organized to discuss and exchange views on deepening the cooperation, promoting joint training programs and boosting the exchanges of teachers and students between the two universities.  

Luo Rong warmly welcomed Professor Stephen McArthur and his delegation. She said that Wuhan University of Technology (WUT) and the University of Strathclyde had established a cooperative relationship for more than ten years, with fruitful results including student exchange visits and joint training programs. In the future, WUT expected more deepened communications and conversations with the University of Strathclyde, to positively and pragmatically embrace a new decade of cooperation between the two universities. She stressed that in the context of China's rapid development of science and technology and the expanding technology market, further cooperation of scientific research should be carried on, to jointly set up a model of Sino-British cooperation in higher education by innovating the form and enriching the content of collaboration.

Professor Stephen McArthur manifested his gratitude for the warm reception given by WUT. He emphasized that the overall development strategies of the University of Strathclyde and WUT were highly compatible, and the regular exchanges between the two universities would open a new chapter of cooperation. The University of Strathclyde was strong in the teaching and the scientific research on engineering. With rich theoretical and practical experience gained in industry-university-research programs, the University of Strathclyde was looking forward to more cooperation with WUT in related fields on scientific research and talent cultivation. More pragmatic results were anticipated through further cooperation

The heads of International Office, School of Automotive Engineering, School of Automation and other relevant units also participated in the discussion.
