On June 28th, the China Merchants C Blue Training Program Inception Association (C Blue IA) Launch Ceremony was held in Shenzhen, China. On behalf of Wuhan University of Technology, one of the launching universities, Meng Fangbing, Deputy Secretary of the CPC WUT Committee, attended the ceremony and issued certificates of completion to the international students of WUT participating in Program C Blue. Miao Jianmin, Chairman of China Merchants Group, Liu Peng, Secretary of the CPC committee of the Institute of Transport Management of Ministry of Transport of the P.R. China, and other representatives of launching universities and the CMPort were in attendance as well.
Initiated in 2016, the philanthropic China Merchants C Blue Training Program aims to cultivate global talents by shaping a “Blue Dream”. It has become an interaction platform for global port and shipping personnel to exchange knowledge through communication and camaraderie. In March 2024, WUT agreed to join the program and started to help establish C Blue IA, constructing a platform of cultural exchange and specialized communication for international talents to share resources, complement each other’s strengths and convey the value of civilization..
As the representative of WUT, Meng Fangbing signed the agreement with CMPort to launch C Blue IA together with the representatives of Dalian Maritime University, Shanghai Maritime University, Chang’an University, Southwest Jiaotong University and The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen .
Mr. Miao issued certificates for excellent trainees to Cambodian student Lin Jinfeng (Chinese name transliteration). Other WUT trainees received their certificates from Meng Fangbing and Mrs. Wong Chung Ying, the chairman of Hong Kong China Education Fund.
After the ceremony, Meng Fangbing had talks with WUT trainees to learn about their experience during the training. He encouraged them to put knowledge into effect and help to promote Sino-foreign exchanges and cooperation in the future. Meng also visited the WUT Alumni Association in Shenzhen, Huawei Technology Co., Ltd. Directors of WUT Social Cooperation Department. Informatization Office, School of International Education were also in attendance.
The C Blue Training Program has been held for 12 times since its launch in 2016. By providing an interaction platform for global young talents of logistics and transportation industries, the program has attracted 356 trainees from 59 countries across all the six continents. During this year’s event, the trainees learned about the century-long culture and the pioneering spirit of innovation of CMG. They explored the long history of the ancient China’s economic and cultural exchanges with the world, recognizing the significance of Belt and Road Initiative in Quan Zhou city, the beginning of the Maritime Silk Road. They also engaged in communication with Hong Kong youths to strengthen friendships.
