On July 25, Xin Sijin, Party Committee Secretary of WUT, held a symposium with Boh Wai Fong, Vice President of Nanyang Technological University (NTU), and his delegation. They had an in-depth discussion on talent cultivation, cooperation in science, technology and academic research. Wang Fazhou, Vice President of WUT, presided over the meeting.

Xin Sijin warmly welcomed Boh Wai Fong and her delegation. He mentioned that he visited Nanyang Technological University when he led a delegation to Singapore in June this year, and the two universities had carried out intensive exchanges. It is impressive that NTU adheres to innovative development and strives to promote forward-looking interdisciplinary education and research. WUT and NTU are highly complementary to each other in some disciplines, with solid foundations and immense potential for cooperation. At present, the two universities have a series of cooperation in student training, talent introduction and scientific research, and have preliminarily reached an agreement on the training programs for undergraduates and masters. Xin Sijin expressed his wish that the two universities could enrich their cooperation in more fields through this visit. Finally, Xin Sijin thanked the head of Nanyang Technological University Hubei Alumni Association, who accompanied Boh Wai Fong, and highly acknowledged the great contribution of alumni in promoting efficient and practical cooperation between the two sides.

Boh Wai Fong thanked WUT for the warm reception. She indicated that the two universities had a solid foundation for cooperation, gained fruitful achievements in scientific research and innovation, and jointly cultivated a large number of high-level talents. She expected more excellent students from WUT to further their study at NTU. She also appreciated WUT’s continuous attention to and investment in the cooperation between the two universities, and she would continue the exchanges and cooperation with WUT.

Before the discussion, accompanied by Hu Jian, Assistant Principal of WUT, the delegation visited the WUT’s Future Learning Center and learned about the achievements of WUT’s education digitization in the Intelligent Operation Center.
