On March 12, on the occasion of the 47th National Tree Planting Day, WUT organized a series of activities themed “Building a Green Campus, Creating an Ecological Future Together”. University leaders including Xin Sijin, Yang Zongkai, Xia Jiangjing, Zhao Jing, Shen Gewu, Mai Liqiang, Zhang Di, assistant principal Li Chaoxin, and more than 150 teachers and students shoveled the soil and planted trees to add fresh greenery to the beautiful campus, demonstrating their commitment to the concept of green development.

"The good rain knows its time right, and it comes in spring." The spring rain added a touch of vitality and poetic charm to this tree-planting activity. At the scene, with a clear division of labor, teachers, and students collaborated to plant the saplings. They carefully cultivated the soil and had the saplings watered. Through joint efforts, over 65 plum trees were planted. In line with the proverb “It takes ten years to grow trees, but a hundred to educate people” concept of education, WUT continues to promote the construction of an ecological campus. Up to now, over 100 plum trees have been planted, covering a total area of nearly 2,000 square meters. Now, this carefully arranged plum grove becomes not only an organic part of the campus ecosystem but also builds a poetic space for teachers and students to explore the beauty of plum blossoms and connect with nature.

In addition to the plum tree planting activities organized by WUT, Office of the CPC WUT Committee and Administration, Youth League Committee, School of Transportation and Logistics Engineering, School of Naval Architecture, Ocean and Energy Power Engineering, School of Resources and Environmental Engineering, School of Navigation, School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Life Science, School of Economics, School of Art and Design, Qihang College and other secondary units have also responded to the initiative by participating in tree-planting activities. Teachers and students spontaneously planted more than 80 various types of trees, such as osmanthus and camphor, etc. This initiative not only enriched the campus landscape with greater variety, colors, and vitality.
