On the afternoon of April 21, a delegation from Wuhan University of Technology (WUT), led by Vice President Wang Fazhou, visited the Secretariat of the Asia-Pacific Space Cooperation Organization (APSCO) for in-depth discussions on talent cultivation, scientific research collaboration, and other areas of mutual interest. Dr. Jiang Hui, Secretary-General of APSCO, along with heads of relevant departments, attended the meeting.
Vice President Wang expressed his appreciation for APSCO’s long-standing support and highlighted WUT’s academic strengths in aerospace, materials science, and intelligent perception, as well as the university’s recent achievements in education digitalization. He proposed further collaboration in areas such as joint research, talent development, and professional training. Wang also noted that WUT would actively promote the signing of a cooperation agreement, recommend outstanding students for internships at APSCO, and invite Secretary-General Jiang to lead a delegation to attend the parallel forum of the World Digital Education Conference hosted by WUT.
Secretary-General Jiang provided a detailed overview of APSCO’s flagship initiative—the Asia-Pacific Space University Program—as well as the organization’s development since its establishment 16 years ago. She emphasized APSCO’s commitment to fostering collaborative innovation in the aerospace and aviation sectors among its member states. Jiang highly recognized WUT’s research capabilities and expressed hope to strengthen cooperation through joint project development and talent exchange and responded positively to the proposed agreement and conference invitation.
During the meeting, representatives of Türkiye, Thailand, Mongolia, and other member states shared their insights on potential joint research applications and technology transfer initiatives. The two sides reached multiple consensuses and outlined clear pathways for follow-up collaboration.
