From June 15 to 24, Xin Sijin, Secretary of the CPCWUTCommittee, led a delegation to visit colleges and educational institutions in France, Belgium and Egypt. He held talks with relevant entities about intercollegiate exchange, talent training, cooperation in science and technology, and talent introduction. Accompanying the delegation during the visit were relevant directors of Undergraduate School of WUT, Personnel OfficeofWUT, International Office, School of Navigation and Silicate Materials Engineering Research Center.

Xin Sijin signeda cooperation agreement with Jonathan Azoulay, Chairman of Réseau des GES

On June 16,in France, the delegation visited Réseau des GES and held business talks with Chairman Jonathan Azoulay and department heads. Both sides conducted in-depth discussions on interdisciplinary and international talent training and academic cooperation, and signed a cooperation agreement. Xin Sijin expressed his expectation to collaborate with Réseau des GES to explore more innovative and forward-looking models of Sino-European educational cooperation, jointly creating a new paradigm for Sino-Frenchand Sino-European educational collaboration.

The delegation visited Chinese Embassy in France

From June 17 to 18, Xin Sijin held a recruitment fair for high-level talents overseas in Paris and visited the Chinese Embassy in France. Zhou Jiagui, Minister-Counselor of the Embassy, highly commended the active role of WUT in promoting international cooperation in Sino-French education. He expressed his expectation that WUT would continue to make contributions to Sino-French cultural and folk communication.

Xin Sijin exchangedgifts with Annick Castiaux, President of the University of Namur

On June 19, in Belgium, Xin Sijin held talks with President Professor Annick Castiaux of University of Namur. Xin pointed out thatthe two institutions have had a long history of cooperation and have jointly trained so many outstanding talents. He expressed hope that this meeting would serve as a new opportunity for the two colleges to deepen collaboration in joint doctoral training, AI-empowered digital education, and jointly undergraduate and graduate programs. Annick Castiaux expressed her eagerness for cooperation in joint doctoral training and digital education and proposed founding the WUT Overseas Alumni Chapter to implement the collaboration further. Xin Sijin made a special visit to meet with local Chinese students and engaged in discussions with them.

During the visit to Brussels, Xin Sijin visited the Chinese Embassy in Belgium, where he briefed Ambassador Fei Shengchaoon WUT's cooperation with Belgium. Both sides discussed matters related to Sino-European educational cooperation.

From June 20 to 23, in Egypt, Xin Sijin visited Benha University, Benha National University(BNU) and Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport(AASTMT). The delegation held discussions with President Nassar El-Gizawy and Vice-President Gehan Abdel-Hady of Benha University, President Samir and Vice-President Karim El-Dashof BNU, and President Abdel Farag and Vice-president Yasser EI-Sonbaty of AASTMT. Xin Sijin noted that China and Egypt, both ancient civilizations with rich history, have shared a longstanding friendship, with Egypt being the first African and Middle Eastern country to establish official diplomatic relations with P.R. China. Under the new historical opportunities brought by the Belt and Road Initiative, WUT is eager to engage in practical cooperation with Egyptian colleges in talent training, transfer of scientific and technological achievements, and the establishment of an alliance of science and engineering, by leveraging WUT's industrial advantages. The visited collegesall expressed their desire to swiftly advance cooperation in areas like dual-degree programs, scientific research collaboration and international academic conferences, with this meeting serving as an opportunity. Xin Sijin, on behalf of WUT, signed a cooperation agreement with BNU.

During the visit to Egypt, Xin Sijin visited the Chinese Embassy in Egypt, where he held talks with Minister-Counselor Lu Chunsheng. Both sides held in-depth exchanges and discussions on promoting Sino-Egyptian educational cooperation and related matters.

The 2025 Overseas Talent RecruitmentPolicy Briefing and Fair

During the visit, the delegation of WUT held the 2025OverseasTalentRecruitmentPolicy Briefing and Fairin Paris, and at the University of Leuven, Belgium. The event attracted nearly 100 young scholarsfrom relevant universities and surrounding areas. These recruitment activities received strong support from the Chinese Students and Scholars Associations of severaluniversities and WUT's specially appointed overseas experts.
