In response to Chinese President Xi Jinping’s call for enhanced youth exchanges between China and Vietnam, the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League organized the "Torch Passing" Study Camp, under the Vietnamese Youth’s "Red Study Tour" to China in Wuhan and Chongqing from November 10 to 17. On November 12, Chinese and Vietnamese youth gathered at Wuhan University of Technology to attend the China-Vietnam Youth Dialogue themed "China and Vietnam Youth Joining Hands for Technological Innovation". Forty delegates of teachers and students from Hanoi University of Science and Technology in Vietnam engaged in in-depth discussions with WUT students on topics including ideals and beliefs, growth insights, technological innovation, and friendship and cooperation.

"Science knows no borders, and innovation has no bounds." Dong Chenxu from the Nano Energy Storage Materials Team of the State Key Laboratory of Advanced Technology for Materials Synthesis and Processing shared his team's research stories and explorations in the field of materials science, especially in nano energy storage. He expressed the expectation that innovation in materials science and technology could serve as a bridge, and the youth who share the mission of the times could act as a link to jointly explore the boundless possibilities of intelligent manufacturing.
Zhao Yifan, an undergraduate student enrolled in 2022 at the School of Resources and Environmental Engineering, introduced the university's "3S" competition system, which stands for "Self-directed Learning, Self-management, and Self-service". He looked forward to working with Vietnamese youth friends to maintain curiosity in exploring the unknown, courage in challenging limits, and reverence in safeguarding the future inspired by the 3S spirit, so as to jointly shape a distinctive "pursuit of excellence" that defines the youth of their generation.
“Seventy-five years ago, President Ho Chi Minh and President Mao Zedong forged a profound revolutionary friendship”, said Tran Ngoc Anh, a student from Hanoi University of Science and Technology. She added that it is up to the younger generation to inherit and carry forward this friendship with the innovative spirit of the digital age, and she hoped that Vietnamese and Chinese youth would inspire each other and move forward hand in hand on the path of innovative development.
Nguyen Van Hai Den, another student from Hanoi University of Science and Technology, noted that the activity is not only an exploration of innovative practices, but also an all-round bridge connecting the hearts and minds of young people from the two countries. It enhances mutual understanding, and injects lasting momentum into future academic exchanges and cooperation.

In addition, the Vietnamese delegates of teachers and students visited the New Energy and Intelligent Vehicle Dream Workshop and the Large Cruise Ship and Yacht Dream Workshop in the University Students' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Park, where they personally experienced the charm of autonomous driving technology and virtual reality (VR) equipment.
Themed "Exploring Revolutionary Footprints and Taking on the Mission of the Times", the study camp brought together 200 Vietnamese student delegates. During the camp, besides interacting with students from Chinese universities, the Vietnamese delegates also visited cultural heritage sites such as the Hubei Provincial Museum and the Dazu Rock Carvings to experience the charm of fine traditional Chinese culture. They also visited places including Dongfeng Motor Global Innovation Center and Changan R&D Center to witness the development achievements of Chinese modernization.
