On November 15th, the 2025 Chongqing International Talent Exchange Conference opened in Chongqing. The event, co-hosted by the Chongqing Municipal Committee of the CPC, the Chongqing Municipal People’s Government, the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, and the Western Returned Scholars Association, included multiple sessions. Meng Fangbing, Secretary of the CPC WUT Committee, Vice President Luo Rong, and Academicians Zhang Lianmeng and Fu Zhengyi of the Chinese Academy of Engineering attended the Talent Development Conference for the Life Sciences Industry and the Talent Development Conference for the New Materials Industry. Leaders from the Chongqing Municipal Committee and Municipal Government, , as well as officials from the Organization Department, the Economy and Information Technology Commission, and Banan and Changshou Districts, were also present.

Later, at the Talent Development Conference for the Life Sciences Industry, Meng Fangbing joined other officials in witnessing the signing of an Industry-University-Research Cooperation Agreement between the university and the People’s Government of Banan District, Chongqing.

Luo Rong, on behalf of the university, collaborated with enterprises from Changshou, Fuling, and Dadukou Districts to establish the Talent Development and Innovation Alliance for the New Materials Industry.

Academician Zhang Lianmeng delivered a speech at the New Materials Industry Talent Development Conference. Academician Fu Zhengyi presented a keynote report titled Advanced Technologies and Materials for Materials Synthesis and Processing.

Prior to the conference, Meng Fangbing and the delegation visited the Chongqing International Biological City.

Representatives from the Office of the CPC WUT Committee and Administration, the Science and Technology Transformation Center, the School of Materials Science and Engineering, the School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Life Science, and the Institute of New Materials participated in the event.
