From December 4 to 9, a delegation of 85 people from 39 Chinese universities visited Milan, Italy, and Casablanca, Morocco, to attend the HSK Study in China Education and Career Expo. Vice President Shen Gewu joined the delegation on behalf of WUT. He participated in multiple activities covering a variety of areas, such as academic exchanges, institution-university cooperation, and educational outreach, further advancing WUT’s internationalization.
On December 4, the delegation participated in the “HSK Study in China Education” exchange session for Italian test-takers at the University of Milan, and introduced study programs through various means, such as the distribution of promotional brochures and admissions materials. The event featured a lively atmosphere.

On December 5, the delegation visited the I.I.S. Bertarelli-Ferraris (a high school in Milan, Italy), and exchanged ideas on cooperation of Chinese language teaching with its faculty and students. This has built a foundation for jointly developing language and culture courses in the future.

On December 7, the Third HSK Study in China Education and Career Expo opened in Casablanca, Morocco. Yu Jingsong, China’s Ambassador to Morocco, attended the opening ceremony. At the event, Shen Gewu gave a speech as a representative of Chinese higher education. He pointed out that the internationalization of education plays a key role in advancing civilization development. The number of Moroccan students enrolling at WUT has steadily increased in recent years, allowing a closer partnership for both sides. Shen also invited Moroccan youth to pursue further education in China, where they can experience the diversity and abundant, high-quality resources of Chinese higher education firsthand.

During the Expo, WUT’s booth attracted significant attention from students and representatives of educational institutions. The delegation engaged them with lively introductions to the university’s strengths, such as its renowned disciplines and scholarship policies, winning enthusiastic response among students and their parents.

Additionally, on December 8, the delegation visited the Confucius Institute of Hassan II University. In company with Cheng Hongjing, Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute, and Fadma AIT MOUS, Moroccan Director of the Confucius Institute, the delegation visited the exhibition room of the institute’s culture, the multimedia classroom, and teachers’ office. Both sides shared their ideas and working experience on respective school development and special programs, and expressed hope for future collaboration in related projects.

WUT is currently implementing the “4310” Internationalization Action Plan to promote high quality development of internationalization on all fronts. The visit has effectively raised the WUT’s overseas profile, and injected fresh impetus into its efforts to attract excellent international students and build transnational enterprise-university-research institute cooperation network.
