On March 28, WUT’s Wuhan Alumni Association held the Automotive Industry Ecological Cooperation Promotion Conference at its Junshan Campus. It was also clearly announced that the School of Automotive Engineering will move entirely to the Junshan Campus in 2029, which will realize “achieve seamless integration between internship/employment and scientific research cooperation” with more than 500 auto parts enterprises in China Auto Valley by then.

The Automotive Industry Promotion Association was founded at the conference on the same day, serving as a “key link” connecting academic disciplines and the automotive industry. In the future, WUT will join hands with complete vehicle enterprises such as Dongfeng and Voyah to establish an Innovation Alliance for New Energy and Intelligent Connected Vehicles. It will co-build R&D platforms for generic technologies including automotive grade chips, solid-state batteries and Level 4 autonomous driving, and implement the model of “Enterprises Propose Topics, the University Provides Solutions, and Achievements Are Shared”, so as to promote the localization and transformation of key technologies in China Auto Valley.
In terms of talent cultivation, WUT will build an industrial talent training base at the Junshan Campus, and launch order-based classes and customized postgraduate classes in cooperation with industrial chain enterprises. It will tailor training programs to meet the job demands of enterprises and employ entrepreneurial alumni and technical backbones from the industrial chain as part-time supervisors, thus achieving a seamless connection between talent cultivation and the job requirements of the automotive industrial chain. At present, the first phase of Junshan Campus of WUT has been completed and put into use, with the National Graduate College for Engineers settling in first; the preparation work for the second and third phases is progressing steadily.
