The Seventh National Conference on University Cyberspace Culture, along with the discussing session themed with To Be Good Netizens in Campus was held at Tongji University on April 8. Yang Jianwen, Deputy Director of the Office of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission and the Cyberspace Administration of China, and Xiong Sihao, Member of the CPC Leading Group of the Ministry of Education and Vice Minister of Education, attended the event and delivered speeches. Huang Ying, honored as a “National Most Beautiful College Student” and currently a doctoral student at WUT, gave a themed report. During the conference, WUT’s Yiban platform was selected as one of the first pilot units for the National Intelligent Agent Platform for Ideological and Political Education. In addition, WUT participated as one of 18 institutions in the “AI-Enabled Achievements Exhibition for Ideological Education”. Vice President Shen Gewu of WUT attended the activities.

As a representative of outstanding student influencers, Huang Ying shared her personal experience in her thematic speech. As the first blind student from Ningxia to take the National College Entrance Examination (Gaokao), she gained exemption from the postgraduate entrance examination through persistent effort and outstanding academic achievements before advancing to pursue her doctorate. She recounted how she made videos to share everyday moments with her roommates and contributed to building a barrier-free living environment. Moving from “being special” to “fitting in”, and from beneficiary to benefactor, Huang used her own stories to demonstrate that “apart from not being able to see, I can do anything”. When Huang concluded her address, the audience responded with thunderous applause.

At the venue, Huang Ying joined fellow speakers reading out the Campus Cyber Civility Initiative.
Latest achievements in AI-empowered ideological and political education were announced in the conference, where WUT’s Yiban platform was selected among the first batch of pilot units for the National Intelligent Agent Platform for Ideological and Political Education.

AI-Enabled Achievements Exhibition for Ideological Education was set up at the event. WUT’s case study titled Leadership · Perception · Synergy · Drive: AI‑Enabled Enhancement of Ideological Guidance, was showcased alongside those of Tsinghua University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and other institutions. WUT’s approach to thoroughly implement the national strategy for education digitization by leveraging AI to strengthen ideological leadership, perception, synergy, and drive, and fostering virtue and nurturing talent with technological support, has won acclaim from officials in the conference.
